Commissions

Spot something you absolutely love, but it's already been sold, or it doesn't quite fit the size requirements for your space? Perhaps you're looking to surprise your loved one or a dear friend with custom-made artwork for their special life event like a wedding, housewarming, anniversary, or any other milestone.

I would be happy to collaborate with you or your interior designer and create unique artwork for your home or office. I proudly offer virtual consultations for those who want to dive deeper into the specifics. I work with all budgets.

The Commissions Process

Size

The initial step is determining the optimal canvas size for your custom project. If you're uncertain about the suitable size for your available space, a useful technique is to use painter's tape to create a rectangular or square outline on a wall. This visual aid can assist you in assessing the proportions that would work best for your area. And in case you still have doubts, feel free to rely on my assistance!

Consultation

Once you have completed the online form, I will contact you to arrange a 30-minute video consultation through Zoom, Skype, or FaceTime. This consultation will serve as an opportunity for us to get better acquainted. It would be greatly appreciated if you could prepare to share with me any previous works of mine that have inspired you to reach out, photographs of the specific space where the artwork will be placed, as well as any sources of inspiration you may have gathered from Pinterest, Instagram, or mood boards. If you happen to be an interior designer, a home decorator, or if you are collaborating with one, I kindly request that you provide me with details such as the brand and name of the wall paint, fabric or wallpaper swatches, and design mood boards. The more familiar I become with your space and its unique characteristics, the better equipped I will be to create something truly tailored to your needs. Following our consultation, I will send you the commission contract for your review. We'll kick off the painting process once the contract is signed and a 50% deposit is received!

Sketch

To ensure that we align our creative vision, I will start by creating a preliminary sketch of your artwork. This step allows for convenient adjustments to colors and the overall aesthetics before I embark on the canvas or wood panel painting. Once you have given your approval, I will commence the process of bringing your artwork to life. Typically, I allocate 3 to 5 weeks to complete your piece, with a slightly longer duration during the holiday season.

Cost

We will discuss the price of your commission during a consultation call, and pricing will be stated in the commission contract. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to initiate each commission process. The remaining balance, along with the shipping and handling costs, is due upon completion of your painting. I take the time to select the best shipping provider for your location carefully. Personal delivery is often an option for commissioned pieces within the Austin metropolitan area.
